Arcadia Athlone Retail Park is based just of the Motorway at Junction 11 on the M6/N6 Motorway in Athlone. Now the owner’s management company have, using data published by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (“TII”), done some analysis of the Motorway traffic in Athlone during the Covid-19 crisis.
Using data published by TII on points around Athlone, specifically focused on the traffic coming through the counter based on the M6/N6 road between Junction 11 Athlone (Centre) and Junction 12, Athlone Bypass, Co. Westmeath.
The analysis shows that, traffic on the motorway in Athlone for the start of October has reduced by 16.6% compared to the same month in 2019.
The figures also show there has been a decrease of 3.8% in vehicle movements last week compared to that of the previous week.
With the whole country on level 3 restrictions we will be updating our analysis next week to see the impact it has on the vehicle numbers.
