ARCADIA Retail Park has announced that the inaugural Arcadia Creative Climate Awards event, which was scheduled to be held on March 23 and 28 next, has been postponed in light of the Covid-19 Coronavirus developments.
Jimmy Keane, Community Marketing Manager for Arcadia Retail Park, said: “We were delighted to announce Duncan Stewart as the guest speaker, and we recently got the news that RTE were going to cover the awards as well.
“However, while it is disappointing to have to postpone, public health is of course the priority for us all right now. We will reconvene the Climate Awards on a later date.” The 13 participating schools have submitted summary presentations of their projects, and the organisers of the Arcadia Creative Climate Awards are delighted with the schools’ participation. It is hoped that the awards can be held before the end of the school year- a big thank you to all the teachers and students involved,” said Athlone Mayor Cllr Frankie Keena.
“The Climate Awards really seem to have captured the students’ attention and imagination. Once the Coronavirus restrictions have cleared the organisers will find new dates for the exhibition and I would encourage the public to come along and see the students’ work.”
