B&Q Athlone was a proud sponsor of the Best Actress Award at the Buccaneers Rugby Clubs event ‘A Night at the Oskars Gala Event’ which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel on the 30th of March this year.
The red-carpet event proved to be a huge success, having a full house on the night with everyone dressed in Hollywood glam. Seven groups took part in creating 10-minute films based on scripts of well know movies such as The Field, The Snapper, Forest Gump Fatal Attraction, Sister Act and the Blues brothers.
The Field came out on top winning best film on the night. Best Actress award, sponsored by B&Q Athlone, went to Fiona Scerri, for her part in Fatal Attraction.
All the money raised from the night will go to Buccaneers Rugby Club who provide top class facilities and training to boys and girls from the ages of 6 years to Under 20 and two adults teams to play rugby. The club currently field 26 teams with the current Leinster, Irish and British & Irish Lion Robbie Henshaw being a product of the club.
